Outfit #23 and Day 6

{printed floral blazer: Dept. | green dress: Old Navy | skinny pants: RW&CO. |
boots: Jessica | belt: Reitman's}

Well, another late post coming up. It seems this is  getting to be a bad habit lol.. Gee, I had no idea daily outfit posting is quite hard and really requires commitment. Not to mention enduring a lot of complaints from the hubby about why I'm so vain; why I can't miss a day of photographing what I'm wearing; why I have to have new clothes, new shoes, new accessories, etc etc etc. Sigh, men! What do they know? How will they ever understand? Perhaps one day he'll just accept the fact that there's no stopping me. I enjoy what I'm doing. He needs to just indulge me and stop complaining, right girls? Maybe even join me in my photoshoot sessions hahahaha... As they say, if you can't beat them, join them :)

Had dinner at mom's today. She made this delicious Filipino dish called "Palabok" which is made of vermicelli noodles topped with tasty sauce, shrimps, shredded pork rind, slices of hard-boiled eggs, and lemon. It was scrumptious to say the least! Mom is a pretty good cook. It's too bad she doesn't cook as often :( She has some really yummy recipes that were handed down from my grandmother who has since passed away. God bless her in heaven :)

Outfit #22 and Day 5

{cardigan: GAP | top and scarf: RW&Co. | jeans: Taverniti | belt: Smart Set | shoes: Jessica}

I'm posting this very very late. I didn't have time to upload pics because we were busy the past weekend. Out the door by 10AM on a Saturday is quite rare. We were trying to make it to the breakfast deal at T. Pot. I'm a slowpoke in the morning and hubby was all "c'mon, hurry hurry, or we're not going to make it!" non-stop to me all morning. So taking a photo was out of the question. Anyway, it was a wasted effort. When we got there, we realized Hongkong-style breakfasts available at other Chinese restaurants in downtown Calgary, is not available in this one. So we had dimsum instead. When hubby has had some grubs, he's all happy and will say yes to anything - including shopping :) We planned to go to the newly renovated Chinook mall. Well, it's not that new anymore. They had a grand reopening before Christmas and believe it or not, I haven't seen it yet! I know, even my mom can't believe I haven't gone to see it. But ever since Crossirons Mill outlet mall opened, I always just go to that one because I know I'll always get good deals there. No use going to a mall and spending hours there when I know I could get stuff cheaper elsewhere. But since I didn't plan on buying anything, I thought it would be a good time to see it. Hubby said he wanted to go to Mexx at Deerfoot Mall which is another outlet mall, only smaller. He said it will be an in and out kind of shopping. He just wanted to get some baby stuff for his brother who's wife is having a baby this month. When we parked, I saw Aldo's sign. I got excited. I had forgotten there was an Aldo there. And they were having a 50% off the sale price. So did Smart Set and Reitman's! The supposedly in and out trip to Mexx ended up to be a few hours in a lot of outlet stores. Sofia had a long nap in her stroller so we didn't want to interrupt that by leaving the mall. Talk about an excuse to shop longer. Oh yeah, Chinook Mall? Nope we never made it there hahahaha...

Outfit #21 and Day 4

{green top: Banana Republic | jeans: Taverniti SO | belt: Gucci | boots: Aldo}

Thank God it's Friday! And what a nice day it was too! After battling the cold cold weather and having been dumped with snow the past week, you have no idea how good it felt to feel the sunshine on my face when I went to go for a walk at lunch today, albeit it was only for a short moment. It made me feel so alive. Not to mention that I allowed myself to think that I looked sexy in my new Tavernitis today :P hahaha... I bought these new favorite from Beyond The Rack.com for $59. After you count the shipping and taxes in, it was around $70+. It took roughly 5 weeks to get to me but I'm happy that I actually picked the right fit for me considering it was an online purchase.

Anyways, I usually stay up late on Friday nights but I guess this is not the Friday night for it. It's only 10:15PM and I'm already ready to hit the sack! I don't know why but I'm so tired. Anyway, off to bed... Oh right, there is the matter of the daughter who refuses to sleep. Sigh, I guess I better get to that too. Goodnight! :)

Outfit#20 and Day 3

{top: RW&Co. | skirt: Mexx | tights: Suzy Shier | boots: Feet First | bag: Gucci}

Aarrgh! These are photos of my second photo shoot. The first ones somehow disappeared from the memory card. How could that have happened? It's a mystery to me.. an annoying one! Now, I'm no tech whiz but I know not to delete stuff when I need them. I vividly remember taking the card out of the camera; put it in the slot on the laptop; took a look, and nothing... zip! What a waste of time! Needless to say, I was miffed! I contemplated on redoing it but I didn't feel like putting my outfit back on after I've put on my pajamas. But then I'm going to miss posting Day 3 :( When hubby came home, I got him to do the second photo shoot for me. I still had to change back to my outfit of today but at least I didn't have to run back and forth setting up the timer and all that! I really need a remote control :P

Today is the lunar Chinese New Year - Year of the Rabbit. We went out to dinner with friends for some good 'ol chinese food :) You know, in keeping with the tradition :)

Day 2 only and I've fallen off the wagon :)

I went to take my boots for repair at the mall right after work yesterday. Big mistake! As I come out of the shop, I saw this beautiful Kensie maxi dress hanging by the clearance rack outside of a rather expensive store for $20!!! I couldn't help but gravitate towards it. As I rummaged through the $20 rack, I saw this floral print grey blazer too. I told myself I'm in trouble now! I took the dress off the rack, brought it inside and tried it on. Perfect fit! The salesperson then asked if I wanted to try the blazer on too. I said it wasn't my size, but she had already brought it in so I thought, fine what the hey. Have you ever fallen off the wagon twice? lol... Day 2 and I've gone shopping. I knew it wasn't going to work for me - this whole shopping ban for 30 days. It will only work if there we no deals to be had. But that I have no control over especially since it's just February and there are so many clearance sales happening. So there you have it, folks! I am weak.. very very weak lol... Am I happy with these purchases? Hell yeah! Besides, I never committed to the shopping ban anyway ;)

perfect spring jacket if you ask me ;) - $20

don't you just love that humungous flower? - $20
 I knew that if I didn't buy these, I wouldn't be sleeping last night lol.. I guess when you can't sleep at night over a dress and a blazer, you've got bigger issues than falling off the wagon huh?

Outfit #19 and Day 2

{patterned b/w shirt: Ricki's | red cardigan: Reitman's | black skinny pants: RW&Co. | red pumps: Suzy Shier}

Ahh, the benefits of planning ahead of time :) I laid out my 30 items for the remix in a spare room and I'm telling you, it's so easy to pick when you have limited choices. I'm really enjoying this now! Mind you, the first day was quite a bit of an adjustment. I had the urge to go back to my actual closet and pick things from there. But I'm no cheater! Oh yeah, I haven't shown you my closet yet (I'm embarassed to.. lol) but it's packed to the brim! I have been telling myself to stop shopping because I have no space to put them in. So this morning, I had few choices than I would normally have. I basically just picked whatever caught my eye. Out of the 30 things, of course! I'm sure I'll feel differently once I feel that I've worn something way too many times hahahaha... It's a good thing I didn't submit my name to Kendi. I have the option to go back to my old routine. But that would also mean failing the test :( Oh my, the thought scares me. When I came to work, my co-worker  complimented me about my outfit. She said she never would have thought to wear the cardigan the way I'm wearing it now - opened and with a belt. And I said, me neither; until I started reading all these fashion blogs and stealing their ideas hahaha... So she said she'll learn from me, and I'll learn from the fashion blogs - yes, that's you! lol...

Today is going to be a lot of food. Lunch time is dimsum with co-workers and tonight, I'm having dinner with my family and mom and sister! We're going for prime rib buffet! Oh, why oh why didn't I include my buffet pants as part of my 30 remix? What??? You don't have buffet pants? Well, it's time you get one too :)

Outift #18 and Day 1

{blazer and skirt: RW&Co. | tank top: Smart Set | tights: GAP | boots: Aldo | accessories: RW&Co and gift from a good friend (the flower ring)}

Hubby left for work on Sunday just before midnight with a word of warning: he might not make it back in the morning to help me with Sofia. This means I have to get myself and Sofia ready all by myself, and drive her to the dayhome before I drive myself to work. And did I mention that there's still a lot on snow on the ground? I know this is not a unique situation to most moms, but it is to me. We normally share the morning load so that both of us can get to work at a reasonable time.

Fast forward to this morning. The alarm clock didn't work, or did it? I woke up and realized it was 7:45AM!! I was horrified!! I uttered some expletives at myself which for obvious reasons, are better left unmentioned here. But there was no time for too much of that. In panic mode, I woke up my little darling who refused to get up and took as much time as she could get away with. I fed her, and that took forever. I changed her and she insisted on doing it herself, which also took forever. By the time I got to me, I had 15 minutes left to shower, brush my teeth, fix my hair and get dressed. Of course, it would have taken a miracle to accomplish such feat. The fact that I'm slow in the mornings didn't help either. Anyhow, as I got to work 30 minutes late, I realized that I probably wouldn't have been so late if I had planned my wardrobe ahead of time. Which takes me back to Kendi's 30 for 30 Remix. As you know, I've been humming and aahing over this last week. But it looks like it's taken on a different meaning for me now. It might actually help me save my job lol...

So tonight, I'm going to go through my closet and get organized. Pick my 30 pieces and think of ways to mix and match them for the next 30 days. I still can't guarantee the no shoppping part though. That requires a more intense intervention than losing a job! Hahaha... But with planned outfits for the next 30 days, I'll be a better person to my hubby and my little girl, most especially in the mornings. Even just for that reason, I think it will be worth it, don't you think?
